The Templo Mayor in Mexico City

The Great Pyramid of Tenochtitlan, or the Templo Mayor of Mexico City, is the remains of the main temple of the Aztec city of Tenochtitlan, on which Mexico City stands today.  The temple was destroyed by Hernan Cortez in the conquest of the city.

The Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City

The Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe is the most important religious edifice in Mexico City.  Located on top of Tepayac Hill, it is home to the original cloth depicting the image of the Virgin that belonged to Juan Diego, to whom the Lady of Guadalupe was said to have appeared.
