Nobody knows exactly when El Danubio was established. However this place used to be a German bar in 1935. In the middle of 1936, two Basque men, Amundarain and Aranguena decided to create a Basque style restaurant in Mexico City.
Today on Uruguay Street. El Danubio is a part of gastronomic tradition in the historical downtown of Mexico City.
It has a great list of wines and drinks from all over the country- - - - - from Red and white wines to domestic wines collected from all over the world.
Table rose wines and champagnes in the bar are enough to lift up your spirits. Drinks of choice are Red and white wine and staff are surprisingly polite.
The Basque founders succeeded with time in forming a menu with over 110 International dishes, maintaining the highest quality standards.
El Danubio also offers Fish and Seafood specialties such as: Grilled Crawfish, Green or Red Seafood Soup, Authentic Baby Eels From Aguinaga, Thermidor Lobster, and much more.
