El Estribo

It is the most salubrious location in the whole Mexico City. Translated as 'The Stirrup', it's a legendary lounge bar in the magnificent grounds of the 16th century Hacienda de los Morales. Los Morales houses a gourmet restaurant, 12 private dining rooms and two other bars.

It's like entering the private room of some 16th century conquistador. Carved wooden walls, red carpets, teak antiques gorgeous half- moon leather lounge chairs. Sombreros hang on walls; chandeliers from ceilings take you back into the past.

And then there's the bar, with over 300 varieties of tequila on the shelves, the largest selection anywhere in the world. Mexicans drink good tequila like the French drink wine.

It is one of the best tequila canvases in Mexico along with the top food in the city and the music is very traditional. It is the best way to explore Mexican tradition.
