Established in March 25th, 1988 on the edge of the Huentitan Gorge, the Guadalajara Zoo is developed on 100 acres of land whose natural topography has been left undisturbed.

It aims to promote conservation of nature through recreational and educational activities which are designed to achieve a greater family interaction among the general public and to make them more aware of the necessity of protection of the environment.

Unique and fascinating animals from around the world can be seen when you visit the Guadalajara Zoo. Zoo Education programs give you an opportunity to encounter some of these animals face to face.

It helps to link people with nature, developing understanding and positive attitudes towards animals and their environments. It even encourages people to actively participate in the care and conservation of animals and environment.

It also organizes night and summer camps, one day like a Vet workshop and many other activities.
