Cozumel Carnival

Cozumel Carnival is the most colorful, biggest and happiest annual celebrations in Mexico. It is full week celebration of parades, dance, costumes, music and street carnivals. Schools, clubs and community organizations spend weeks making floats, costumes and practicing their dances and music.

Boasting about their stuff, the sparkling, multi- colored sequin- and- feather- covered participants take the competitions very seriously. From Egyptian Goddesses and Michael Jackson impersonators, to human glitterballs and transvestite surfers - the parade always brings some bright and musical surprises.

The biggest parades are on the last four days, culminating in the ritual burning of Juan Carnival. The main parades include the Masquerade Parade for children and everybody including parents, grandparents, locals, tourists, cats, dogs and even the police are welcome to join in.
