This extraordinary palace of learning, part boarding school and part Mines Tribunal (regulatory body for the country's mining industry), was constructed between 1797 and 1813. The majestic monument of exquisite forms and exact proportions where light, space and functionality merge, is one of the most beautiful architectures in Mexico City.

Today, the building includes the Engineering School of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, office of the Continual Education Division of the School of Engineering (DECFI), the Engineer Bruno Mascanzoni Information and Documentation Center, the Historical Archives of the Palace of Mines, the Manuel Tolsá Museum, different engineering groups as well as different administrative areas.

Initially a school of mining, it is now a days occasionally used for concerts and cultural events. It is also the venue for The International Book Fair every year.

Timings: Mon- Fri 9am- 8pm
