National was formed on August 27, 1947 with a group of 24 independent car rental operators with 60 locations and 800 vehicles. Since then it has shown incomparable growth and innovations and has remained the #1 option in both business and leisure rentals. In Mexico, National operates by the franchise system and follows all standard procedures as an international company. In 1954, National became the first car rental company to offer leisure travelers flat rate rentals.

The minimum age to rent a car is 21 and an additional late and fuel charges have to be incurred by customers in case any policies have been disobeyed. A valid driver's license is a pre requisite and must be in hand at time of rental. A provision of child seats is available but the same have to be told at the time of reservations.

Major credit cards like VISA, Master Card, and American Express are accepted. Debit Cards are not accepted.
